Fuel Surcharge


A. Duie Pyle uses the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Central Atlantic Average price of a gallon of diesel fuel as the base for calculating the fuel surcharge for all LTL shipments. For the week of Tue 04/15/2025, the price of a gallon of diesel fuel is $3.86. The LTL fuel surcharge for today is 34.40% based on this average. The table below illustrates A. Duie Pyle's LTL fuel surcharge guidelines.

  • Note A: The Central Atlantic fuel index is updated on the first business day of each week and may be determined by calling 202−586−6966.
  • Note B: If the fuel surcharge drops below or rises above , the table above will be updated.
  • Note C: In applying the increase provided herein, first determine the total net charge, and then apply the increase authorized by this Item as a separate charge. Fractions of less than one half cent or one half dollars will be dropped; fractions of one half cent or one half dollar or more will be increased to the next whole cent.
  • Note D: The weekly Central Atlantic average diesel fuel price set by the U.S. Department of Energy effective each Monday shall be used to determine the fuel surcharge with the new adjustment taking effect on Tuesday morning of the week of the change. All rates and charges for linehaul transportation, and other services which consume fuel, in tariffs or contracts making reference to this tariff, will be increased by the percentage shown above.
